Always There
 We were recently privileged to design and produce both a hard-back and an eBook version of a biography of Dr. Ruth Kirschstein, the first woman to head one of the institutes at the National Institutes of Health. She was involved in the safety testing of vaccines now commonly used to prevent polio, measles, and rubella, and was an early advocate for AIDS research.
The book, titled Always There: The Remarkable Life of Ruth Lillian Kirschstein, M.D., is the perfect companion to those seasonal reflections and annual self-evaluations where we re-prioritize our priorities and re-engage our dearest friends.
As I read the book, two thoughts came to mind. First, there really are remarkable people all around us, doing extraordinary, life-affirming work. We may not know their names or fully appreciate what they do, but we are indeed fortunate to live in a rich and vibrant world where countless people work to improve all of our lives every day. And second, at this resolution-making time of year, we could all of us try to be a little more remarkable ourselves. A thought, a word, a gesture, a voluntary effort all combine to lighten someone else’s load and make their path just that much easier.
All of us at C+C hope that 2012 turns out to be, in every way imaginable, a truly remarkable year for all of our clients, friends, and colleagues.
