Robots have deep cultural associations, informed by literature and movies. In Japan they are seen as helpers and personal aides. In the US, they’re often portrayed as malevolent and out of control. To introduce its ASIMO robot to America, Honda asked C+C to create a brochure that showed the robot’s non-threatening, human-like characteristics, including its ability to say “Hello.”
